when it's worth being patient

As of late, upon reading a few blogs I routinely follow, I stumbled on a few blog entries about love, arranged marriages and the famous, teenage pregnancies. All of which don't appeal or have any resemblance to me at all, except for... love. Even though I'm flying sky-high with such a lovey-dovey feeling, this post won't be about it cause' the main topic is about Waiting till' after you tie the knot.

Call me old-school, but I'm a firm believer in giving my virginity to the one I tie the knot with as he will be The One. He won't wake up one morning only to realize he can do so much better and neither will he pine on and turn to prostitutes just cause' the sex ain't all that good. He'll always be around, through thick and thin... forever. If he is a man of his word - when making that promise at the alter - that is.

"I believe that sex is a bonding of two meant to be reserved for after you slot in that diamond ring." - Jeremy Tan.

Having being brought up in a Christian family - or should I say, a firm foundation -  we are taught according to the word of God. Sure, it being the word of God and a small fraction of the lessons that were taught by my parents would make me abide to it and obey but what keeps me from sliding off my wagon is having the belief that something significant and special will come out of it when it's between two people destined to be together by God.

Many people have this mind-set that having sex before marriage is for the pleasure it brings, or simply for one's experience sake. Some feast their eyes on porn to be sure on how things are done when in the long-run, it becomes addictive. "Watching porn and experimenting isn't necessary. When it's with the right person, everything will be at your fingertips", my Dad had said when we had a conversation on this topic a while ago. And without any objections, it somehow rings with nothing but the truth.

So why set yourself out there to be just some shiny new product amongst the other products on the shelf, just waiting to be tested and purchased? It's seriously saddening to watch the one's I love lose all sense of composure and self-respect and just fall... fall into the blackest hole they swore they'd rather die than fall into.

Come what may, I'll still be standing on solid grounds and staying firm in what I believe in. Cause' I believe that at the end of that beautiful rainbow, something indescribable awaits.
