the last song
I've been a huge fan of romantic and heart-tugging novels and I suppose the best author that has constantly, without fail, managed to pull at my heartstrings would be none other than Nicholas Sparks.
When this book hit the bookstores worldwide, I managed to read the whole book review about it at one of the most convenient bookstores, for me, MPH. I held on to that book for so long that I wanted to walk right up to the cashier, purchase it and make it my own but I was disheartened by the shortage of cash I had with me that day. It was like my heart was ripped from my chest, so much so, that it was a struggle to walk out of the bookstore without it in my hands.
Just yesterday, I saw this movie trailer (look up) and a rush of excitement flood through me. I couldn't believe the song, "When I look at you" - a song I've been listening to over and over again - is the theme song for this movie. Mostly, it surprised me to know that Miley Cyrus would play the leading role of Ronnie. But I'm looking forward to it, nonetheless.
This heartwarming drama of first loves and second chances is centered on Ronnie, a rebellious 18 year old who is sent to a Southern beach town for the summer to stay with her Dad. He tries to reconnect with her through the only thing they have i common - music - in a story of family, salvation, secrets and friendship.
After having watched the trailer about the 5th time now, the longing for the book is so much more stronger and this time, I'm not going to resist it.
