when dreams seem sweeter than reality
As of late, I've been missing my daily ritual coffee breaks. So, as time goes easy on me today, I shall enjoy my time sitting here, in front of my laptop while enjoying my improvised coffee.
I don't know what drove me to write this story but I did anyways... as my moments in school left me bored and restless.
So, here you go.
"As the piano continues to play, playing this familiar lullaby. It's one f the reasons teas keep streaming down. She stands in the corner of her dressing room, all dressed in white. With her tresses all unruly and mascara all smudged up. The hours past by like a flash, causing her heart to crumble to ash.
She realizes that that had to be done, the right thing to do - leaving her almost-husband at the alter, unexplained and unaware of what's going on. The right thing to do before anything is regretted. She knew it in the pit of my stomach, in the center of my bones, knew it from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, knew it deep in my empty chest. She also knew that that excuse alone, would never be enough.
Thoughts kept pondering in her mind, creating images with her imagination. That's when nostalgia hit her - old memories that had been forgotten was rekindled.
Memories of her once true love...
As her imagination - running wild, let her back in time, fragments and glimpses of the happiness she once felt, made it's way to the core of her heart - having an effect on her she thought she could never feel again, causing puddles of teardrops to linger on her lower eyelids. She felt the same feelings she once felt with her former love - the one whom she was certain, would be the lover of her life, forever. She felt complete, whole again. She also remembered the exact words he said to her when they first met, "When I first saw you, I knew I had to have you - it's the only way I can continue to breathe". That left her in complete despair.
Now, she knew it was too late to turn back the hands of time but her conscience told her otherwise.
Apart of her wanted him back in her life - to have a feel of the thrill being in love, once again. Having long midnight walks, hands intertwined. She felt the regret of having to have left him in the first place. But the other part, well, she felt she was better without him. Yes, she was caught in the middle of this, yet again.
Just as she was about to choose, reality found it's way - her mind was clear, conscious.
She found herself sulking on her dressing room floor, dress crumpled, decorated in different shades of her make-up. Conscious of what she had done, she collected herself and rushed out through the church doors, breathing in the dewy atmosphere. Glistening at the perfect rainbow that was across the cloudy, blue skies.".
