I love it like this


I don`t want

* someone safe.

* someone who always has the right things to say.

* who knows when to hold me tight and when to give me space.

* who talks sports with my dad and sends flowers to my mom.

* who makes heads turn when he walks into a room.

* whom girls adore and guys envy.

* whose cut of jeans is as current as his PDA.

* who`s never late but always patient.

* who never argues, only debates and never shouts at me.

* who`s good with children and will make a perfect father.

* who knows how to juggle work, family, and social life and how to schedule enough time for each other.

I don’t want who looks perfect beside me and me beside him.

I want

* someone unpredictable.

* someone dangerous.

* someone who won`t stop at anything until he gets what he wants.

* someone who will kidnap me and steal me away to London, Paris, China, Africa, or some far-flung corner of the world.

* who will wait outside my gate at one in the morning in the rain to say “I`m sorry” after I stormed away in the middle of a heated argument, angry words, and hot, burning tears.

* who doesn`t quite know what to do with kids because deep down he`s still one but who will eventually make not a perfect father, but a pretty awesome one who`s not necessarily the best in anything except at being the best to me.

* who keeps my notes in his wallet and rereads them until they`re all worn out.

* who doesn`t always know the right things to say but ends up saying them anyway.

* who doesn`t fit me into a schedule but brings me along to run errands and follows me on mine.

* with whom life is sometimes confusing and bittersweet but also wonderfully beautiful.

I want someone
for whom I am not an accessory
but a best friend.
