Because in you, I see the map of our lives

More often than not, Desperate Housewives does have it's inspirational and 'Awww' moments that only die-hard fans like moi will always be able to witness. Although, I can't say the same for the opposing team (my Dad, for instance)

People are just so quick to judge - be it when judging a person's character or in this case, the kind of TV show Desperate Housewives is. The first opposing comment would probably be about how similar this series is to any other TV series which has a solid story-line, lots of gossip and drama and a satisfying number of steamy scenes. Yes, it is all true but what has me hooked is the courage each women has to get on with life even though there are yet to be more obstacles, the camaraderie these women have after being neighbours for so long, the extent they would go to do anything to keep their family safe and how they're barely coping like a cockroach balancing itself of a thin thread.

I'm not going to waste my time bad-mouthing those on the opposing team as I've got better things to do but sometimes all they need to do, is shut their pie-holes and allow themselves to be amazed. I was. And it's moments like those when you really do see the good in every little thing.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES - "You Must Meet My Wife" - After Renee begins spending a lot of time with Tom, an angry Lynette feels she's trying to sabotage their marriage; Bree fires Keith (Brian Austin Green) without warning when she suddenly finds herself falling for him; Susan is wracked with guilt about lying to Mike about her new, risqu side job; Gabrielle rushes to the hospital after learning that Bree accidentally hit Juanita with the car; and Paul introduces the women of Wisteria Lane to his new wife, on "Desperate Housewives," SUNDAY, OCTOBER 3 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/DANNY FELD)DOUG SAVANT, FELICITY HUFFMAN

Tom: Why do you care so much?
Lynette: Because I don't want to have plastic surgery.
Tom: What?
Lynette: Tom, if you're unsatisfied with your looks, someday you're gonna be unsatisfied with mine.
Tom: No. No.
Lynette: Yes. You are going to look at me someday with your brand-new face and say, "When did she get so old?" We won't look like we belong together anymore.
Tom: Lynette, I'm just talking about gettin' rid of a few wrinkles.
Lynette: But I don't see your wrinkles, Tom. I see our whole life together. This...is you worrying about how you're going to provide for us. This is Penny falling out of the tree house and breaking her arm. This is my cancer. These are the millions of laughs that got us through all those tough times. It's like a map of our marriage, and I don't want to lose it....

Hi there,

I just wanted to drop by and say I was most impressed by your blog, particularly the design. I am 89 years old and have only just started blogging myself, it is really great fun!

Thankyou,

Mrs. Higgins
