adventurous little me

I just arrived back home from Genting Highlands a few hours ago, sometime around 4. 30 p.m. I must admit, I'm glad to be back home to where the whether is tolerable, let alone bearable. I'm not one whom enjoys being in cold, icy, freezing places. It numbs me.

But having to be in the midst of coolness every once in awhile never ceases to satisfies.

Remember when I said (typed, actually) I'd update you inquisitive people about my trip when I get back home? Well, I'd stuck to what I'd said...maybe even promised. So, here.

Day 1 - 22/10/09'

I've reached to where I can see the clouds and mist float by, to where the city seems still and the roads look as if they're overloaded with little ants; Genting Highlands. The sky is now dark and misty, bearable at least. We've already been checked into our suite, unpacked our luggage and now we're all settled in our temporary home. As I sit in bed, facing the window, the strong winds I hear 24 floors above the First World Hotel Lobby are hauling. The city is at it's best; still, no presence of the hustle and bustle I'm used to. Everything seems so tiny from where I lay. While my siblings are battling out Guitar Hero, I took the liberty of making a start at studying for my finals. Why leave the hours ungrasped and allow it to be wasted, just like that?

So since it has been a long, not-so-eventful day, and the temperature is just right to head to bed, I shall do so. At this point, I'd be a fool to refuse such an opportunity to be whisked away to where dreams are dreamt.

Day 2 - 23/10/09'

It feels so good to run warm water down my body after a very fun yet tiring day. More so, after hours of having to be outdoor in the cold. It's fascinating how being in the shower, being all alone cleanses away your - my - fears, thoughts... sanity. I'd taken my own sweet time in the shower, in hope my body would reenact with the warmth it usually feels, back home.

After much anticipation, I'd gotten a chance to go to the Themepark once again, after approximately 4 years or so. Just being there once again, in the midst of the most thrilling of rides, breathing in the misty morning air, remembering of such joy it all made me feel when I was here a few years younger, made it harder to contain myself. There were a number of rides I'd mentally noted to myself, I'd give a go at again. After having done so, I'd slightly wished I wasn't so determined in the first place. Although, I didn't give in to my determination entirely for I'd refrained myself from having to endure the anxiety I felt when I'd gone n Space Shot, the last time. As much as the rollercoasters (or anything that's high above the ground) seem like fun, I strongly disagree. For most parts, it leaves me shaken. Though, a few of which I truly enjoyed is the Grand Prix Go Kart, Super Toboggan and Flying Coaster. Steering in my lucky number 11 kart sure made me feel... fast. Indeed, I was amongst the fastest.

And of course, I'd managed to capture a few memories as mementos along with me. I'd finally gotten a chance to capture good angled, amazing scene photographs - every picture turned out beyond my expectation - on a recent big event. All of it needs to be temporarily uploaded in my Dad's laptop tonight, otherwise, another wonderful day tomorrow brings would most probably be only remembered as little fragments of happiness rather than the whole picture.

Upon returning back to our suite, we'd watched Twilight for yet another time, while having spaghetti for dinner. I'd watched it about a million times, till' each line has been memorized, but I'll never refuse a chance to watch it again.

Now, I'm all snuggled under the blankets, watching Pearl Harbour.

Day 3 - 24/10/09'

Today was a little toned down. Plans that were made earlier to go to the indoor themepark had been called off due to the childishness everything indoor seemed. So, instead off bringing out the little kid in me and going on the merry-go rounds, I went roaming around the shopping area. In search of little gifts/finds to bring home to our immediate family and friends.

None of us left empty handed, that's for sure. My brother added another Rubik's cube to his collection. Mum bought herself a few accessories. My sister and I brought back some dark chocolates for our classmates, those whom pestered us for a little something during our stay in Genting. I'd, too, bought a leather bracelet, the one's where you can customize with little diamond-like alphabets. Though, am not sure if it was worth it as it costed an unreasonable sum of money.

As evening arrived, we were back at our suite. My feet is soar and the skin on my arms have been mostly dominated by goosebumps. We settle to take a short nap but instead, Mum suggests we watch Twilight again, as she was distracted by preparing dinner the night before. So, we do. And again, I don't complain. While at it, I do some revision for my finals. The night was spent watching at least three movies in a row - Taken, Australia and Nancy Drew.

Before I tucked myself in bed, I wrote about something that has been screaming in my head to be put into words. Something that has sparked after/while watching Taken.

Day 4 - 25/10/09'

It's our last day here. I'd made plans to wake up at about 8 a.m. to hit the gym. But having slept past midnight the day before sure had an effect on me - I woke up at 10 a.m. Just as I was about to take my sweet time in being fully awake, Mum told us all to get dressed quickly. Dad had invited Mum and us to be present at the Toastmasters convention since it's gonna be "Result Time" for those whom took part.

We took our seats at about 11.30 a.m. , which was after roaming around the shopping area for the second time. We did another round of shopping - not too much though. My sister now owns her first pair of Chuck Taylor's. I, on the other hand, now own an Edward Cullen pencil case. All the determination and will power to be a wise spender would immediately be forgotten once I spot something that's Twilight. I go weak in the knees.

It's almost lunchtime so we try something new; Hou Mei. Beyond stuffed, we were after having been done. When we head back to the convention, lunch is being served. But we only helped ourselves to light desserts - cute little cream puffs, chocolate moose cake and bread pudding with vanilla cream. Now I can say I'm satisfied.

By 3. 45 p.m. , we're in our MPV, listening to the latest tracks on my pendrive, unwinding the car window for the cool breeze to soothe our journey back home.

The same day (4.45 p.m)

I'm home sweet home.
